During the week of March 1st-5th, Pathway held its annual Read Across America Literacy Celebration Week. This year, 10 guests joined classrooms virtually via Zoom to read and interact with Pathway students and staff. Guests included Maysoon Zayid, Comedian/Actress/Disabilities Rights Advocate; Giselle Fetterman, Second Lady of Pennsylvania; Leonard Haas, Broadway Actor; Bill Clement, Former Philadelphia Flyer and Radio Host; Robby Brod, WHYY Reporter/News Editor; and many other friends, supporters, and guests. CBS Philly’s Ukee Washington also joined Pathway in celebration of Literacy Week on March 23rd to read virtually to 3 classes of students at Pathway and discuss his career as a News Anchor.

For more than ten years, Pathway has participated in the NEA’s Read Across America program, which is celebrated nationally in schools to encourage reading and learning. Pathway has had over 150 guests within the past 10 years which have included Judge Risa Ferman; Senator John Rafferty; Norristown Chief of Police, Dale Mabry; State Representative Michael Corr; U.S. Congresswoman Madeleine Dean; State Senator Katie Muth; State Representative Joe Webster; State Representative Mary Jo Daly; and Avi Wolfman-Arent, WHYY Education Reporter.
