The Pathway School’s 2022-2023 school year was nothing short of epic. Our students and staff went above and beyond to make this year extraordinary – let’s take a trip down memory lane to recap this past year.

The year started off with a bang with our first event in the fall, our Homecoming celebration. This was the most attended Homecoming ever at The Pathway School. Students got their faces painted, visited the traveling petting zoo from Elmwood Park Zoo, played in bouncy houses, did arts and crafts, and so much more. It was a wonderful reunion with past and present Pathway students!

We also made a new friend at the school: the Philly Phanatic! The atmosphere was electric when the Phanatic came to campus with his first friend, Dave Raymond. The lovable mascot brought an abundance of joy as he posed for photos with our excited students and danced around our gymnasium. Pathway’s own Patriot mascot also joined in on the fun!

Campus buzzed with excitement as our newly formed robotics team, PATH To Domination, emerged victorious in their first competition and qualified for the FIRST Mid-Atlantic Regional Robotics Championship at Lehigh University. Students were bursting with enthusiasm as they brought signs and posters to our school-wide pep rally in support of the team.

There was another “first” on campus this year: our inaugural Pride event organized by Upper School student, Jacob. The event celebrated acceptance, diversity, and inclusion as Pathway students and staff united to honor and support LGBTQ+ individuals.

Continuing with student accomplishments, a Pathway student was a national champion! Upper School student, Jhon, won the Sumdog National Math Contest and was the only participant in the country to answer all 1000 math questions correctly. Jhon is just one of our AMAZING Pathway students!

Pathway Today News had an opportunity to host and interview WWE wrestler, Drew Gulak, who just happens to be Pathway student Jaxson’s cousin. Filled with laughter and excitement, the students hosted an exciting interview with the wrestling star.

The magic of live performances came alive this year at The Center Theatre, where our theatre arts students, The Pathway Players, performed two sensational productions: “Ebeneezer Scrooge” and “The Music Man Jr!” The students poured their hearts into these show-stopping musicals.

At the close of the school year, 20 remarkable students graduated from Pathway. One student, JP, was accepted into Chestnut Hill College’s Neurodiversity Program, and another student, Aronde, will be attending Arcadia University’s REAL Certificate Program. From furthering their education to entering the workforce, we are thrilled to see all our recent graduates chase their dreams and make a positive impact in their communities.

We are also eager to share some other important accomplishments and updates from this past year. The Pathway School has been recognized by the state of Pennsylvania as a PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) Tier 1 Sustaining Program. This prestigious distinction is a testament to our commitment of fostering a learning environment that encourages positive behavior recognition. In addition, two buildings on campus, Anthony Wayne and Valley Forge, are being renovated and updated to better serve our evolving and engaging curriculum.

As we celebrate the successes of the 2022-2023 academic year, we are excited for the year to come, knowing that the future holds endless possibilities for our school-wide family.
