STEM Coach
STEM Coach – Open Position
Great opportunity for an entry level teacher interested in gaining experience building and teaching on a progressive STEM Curriculum Platform.
The primary function of this position is to assist the school’s STEM Program by providing direct technical instruction to students as part of the school’s STEM initiative.

Full-Time; Pay: $25-35.00 per hour; Expected Hours: 35 per week.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Area of Study. Years of experience considered in lieu of degree.
Experience
- 2+ Years of experience working in an education setting. Experience working with Special Education students a plus
Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to read and write effectively due to instruction and data collecting requirements of the position.
- Ability to combine technical knowledge with STEM Curriculum and apply in class setting necessary.
- Willing to learn, understand and apply Basic Child Development and Behavioral Management strategies.
- Must be able to take direct, work in a team environment as well as independently.
- Must be willing to drive students utilizing Pathway vehicles if needed.
Compliance Requirements
- Must comply with Act 168 and submit a completed Sexual Misconduct Form.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory PA criminal background check, Child Abuse & FBI clearances and pass a drug test, as well as a TB Test.
- Must be able and willing to drive and have a valid PA driver’s license.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to manage the physical requirements of position which will require work both on-campus and off-campus. This position includes extensive walking, stair climbing, standing, pulling, and lifting. Ability to work with children who are both mentally and physically disabled. This position requires work both indoors and outdoors working in various weather climates.
Professional Responsibilities
- Assigned to provide technical coaching to students under the direction of the STEM Coordinator in alignment with the school’s STEM Curriculum.
- Prepares and organizes instructional materials for students using their expertise in a technical trade.
- Collects, maintains, and communicates student progress with assignments.
- Collects, maintains, and communicates any student data requested by the STEM Coordinator.
- Provides instruction, coaching and training to students.
- Works to resolve obstacles to students in terms of job tasks.
- Required to participate in all in-service training and may be asked to assist in the preparation and administration of in-service training.
- Provides supervision to the students assigned to their classroom.
- Responsible for the safety and security of all students in the program.
- Always instructs and monitors student activity in the program.
- Provides input to the STEM Coordinator for the purpose of providing information on student progress toward IEP goals.
