Students are placed in living environments that best match their age, functional level and presenting needs. Each environment is structured so as to provide a therapeutic milieu, which focuses on life skills, social skills, leisure and recreational skills and the development of adaptive behaviors and coping strategies. Staffing ratios vary from 1:4 to 1:2 depending on the needs of the student. Provisions for 1:1 services are made on an individual need basis. Living options include campus living units, which serve up to twelve students, community apartments and small community homes. Residential staff works closely with clinical, educational and related service staff to provide an integrated program utilizing cognitive and behavioral training approaches.
