    Creative Arts

Creative Arts includes art, music, drama, and any other creative modality that fits into the program. Included in the art program are many different projects such as sculpting, jewelry, pottery, drawing, painting, pastels, collage, mobiles, and other crafts. This program is included in all practical academics, middle school, and Pervasive Development Disorder (PDD) programs. There are also two art electives, one is an advanced art elective for students seriously interested in honing their skills in the elements of art, and the other is an independent art elective for those students wishing to work on their own art projects.

Included in the music program are many different projects such as singing and dancing, karaoke, call and response, chants, finger plays, learning about different styles of music, and working with varied instruments such as the guitar, dulcimer and percussion instruments. Music is often played during art.

The Creative Arts Instructor also uses team teaching as an approach to high school academics like Science, English, Physics, Social Studies, and Geometry. This form of teaching provides a way to get students active in creative arts, and enable them to make projects concerning the related academic subjects.

This year Pathway instituted a drama program in which students work on many facets of socialization through theatre production.
