Family Inclusion & Support

 

Pathway believes that the role of the family is critical to a student's ability to meet and sustain the significant learning, social and interpersonal goals in their lives.

 

At Pathway:

 

  • Families are primary members of the IEP team.

  • Parents receive communication on progress and achievements as well as issues of concern, as they arise.

  • All students are assigned a Clinical Case Manager :

  1. a designated person to monitor the social and emotional progress of the students
  2. coordinate and provide services for students requiring psychological intervention
  3. provide family point of contact for social and emotional needs

 


Family training series are offered throughout the school year to cover important topics, including:

 

  • Transition services

  • Resources for supporting and enhancing executive functioning skills, social skills and interpersonal skills

  • Parenting skills

  • Behavior support in the home


Family Consultation and Therapy

 

  • Clinical staff provide weekly consultation for the parents of students who receive counseling services as part of their IEP

  • Family therapy is provided to all families with students enrolled in the Emotional Support Program
